Yvonne "Moonie" Marie Johnson, 70, of Redby, MN began her journey home on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at her home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the New Redby Community Center in Redby, MN with Rev. George Ross and Willy Strong officiating. A wake will begin at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the New Redby Community Center and will continue until the time of the funeral on Friday at the Center. Burial will be in the St. Antipas Episcopal Cemetery in Redby in the spring.

Active pallbearers will be Ira Johnson, Charles Johnson, Dwight Johnson, Tom Charnoski, Jr., Wilfred Yepa, Brett Brun, Devin Roy, Joshua Roy, Nicholas Cook-Roy, Avery Yepa and Cyrus Whitefeather.

Honorary pallbearers will be Karen McNeal, Carol Barrett, Linda Johnson, Val King, Debra Johnson, Sheila Johnson, Sandra Brown, Annette Brown, Sue Antone, Chelsey Red Bear, Kelly Lovelace and Robert Lovelace.

Moonie was born into the Bear Clan on January 26, 1947 in Red Lake, MN, the daughter of Frank "Ole" Johnson and Lucille ( Holinday) Johnson. She attended school in Red Lake. She married Larry Roy in 1972, later they divorced. She worked as a preschool teacher in the Red Lake Headstart program for many years. She was employed with Family Children Services in Red Lake for many years. She enjoyed attending Pow-wows with Sandy Brown, going to the casino, watching her grandchildren play sports, and watching "The Price Is Right" & "The Food Network". Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her unforgettable humor will be remembered by all.

She is survived by 4 daughters, Nicole Roy, Beth Roy, Sue Roy and Melanie Roy; a son, Jeffrey Roy; 3 special daughters, Deb Johnson, Sheila Johnson and Chelsey RedBear; 2 special sons, Ira Johnson and Charles "Hug Johnson; 16 grandchildren, Tamryn Yepa, Avery Yepa, Devin Roy, Jeff Roy, Jr., Ashileen Roy, Marissa Roy, Alexandra Roy, Cyrus Whitefeather, Josh Roy, Sr., Tim Roy, Alyssa Roy, Ryan Roy, Jenna Defoe, Chelsey RedBear, Nicholas Cook-Roy, and Kylah Roy; 34 great-grandchildren, Brett Stately, Jr., Delila Roy, Darin Roy, Devin Roy, Jr., Draydon Roy, Destiny Roy, Braydon Roy, Cadeyn Roy, Jayceon Roy, Jeff Roy, III, Daniel Roy, Kordell Roy-Stillday, Chase Lussier, Jr., Ah'licia Roy, Jaycel Cloud, Duane Roy, Landon Roy, Josh Roy, Jr., Jalen Roy, Taylor Roy, Sierra Roy, Briann Roy, Jonathon Roy, Andrew Roy, Malia Roy, Danielle Roy, Romei Roy, Christina Roy, Cadence Roy, Allen Kingbird, Jaydence Roy, Dean Fairbanks, and Kameron Roy and one on the way; and 2 special sisters, Sandra Brown and Annette Brown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank "Ole" Johnson and Lucille M. Johnson; 2 brothers, Edward Johnson and Arnold "Tiger Johnson; a sister, Darlene "Pee-Wee" Johnson; a grandson, Cade F. Roy; 3 granddaughters, Noelle, Mickey Jo and Michaelana; maternal grandparents, Edward and Lucy Holinday; and Paternal grandparents, Jack Johnson and Louise Buckanaga.
