The cascade of statehouse vacancies following U.S. Sen. Al Franken’s resignation doesn’t have to end up in court.

The solution, versions of which have been making their way around the Capitol, is actually pretty simple, and Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka, R-Nisswa, said Thursday he supports it. Gazelka said he presented a form of the plan to the governor on Wednesday.
