Kalispel Tribe Police Chief facing domestic violence charges after allegedly fighting wife

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Chief of Police for the Kalispel Tribe of Indians is facing domestic violence charges after his wife accused him of assaulting her inside their home during a fight. According to court documents, James Wynecoop got into an argument with his wife, grabbed her, and threw her down onto the floor of their garage/man cave.

Documents said his wife hit her head when she was thrown to the ground. She told police Wynecoop was drunk and out of control. She said she had no choice, but to defend herself. Wynecoop’s wife told investigators she hit him in the head with a plastic toy.
