Icy roads in Twin Cities make for slippery driving, crashes; 1 dead in outstate Minnesota

Twin Cities residents awoke to ice, snow and dangerous driving on some roads.

Rain and mist Monday evening froze under a layer of snow as temperatures took a dive to winter-like numbers, creating slick conditions on many Twin Cities roads. At 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, there were multiple crashes and spin-outs on Interstate 94 and Interstate 494, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
