U.S. Supreme Court to decide if Minnesota can limit political items near polling places

The U.S. Supreme Court will consider whether a Minnesota law banning political items in and near polling places violates free speech rights.

The high court announced Monday that it accepted the Minnesota Voters Alliance appeal from the 8th U.S.Circuit Court of Appeals, which had upheld the law. The alliance sued several Twin Cities election officials and Secretary of State Steve Simon.
