BEMIDJI -- Three presumably intoxicated men and a car flipped on its roof resting in Gull Lake was the scene that awaited Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office deputies in Hagali Township last Friday. The driver of the vehicle is facing a criminal vehicular operation charge.
David Michael LaDuke, 20, of Bemidji was arrested Oct. 17 after deputies responded to a call at approximately 5:30 a.m. in which a vehicle had left the roadway and entered the lake, according to a statement of probable cause. Deputies observed vehicle tracks leading from the driveway of a residence through trees and into Gull Lake. A small Ford vehicle was in the lake approximately 30 yards from shore, court documents said.
