Equipment Operator
TRIBAL ROADS

PRIMARY FUNCTION
To provide road services for the entire reservation, reports to Foreman, full-time position with benefits, salary; DOQ.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Responsible for the maintenance of assigned equipment which includes, filling with fuel, changing oil, filters, changing cutting edges and minor adjustments to ensure proper and economical operation of the equipment
• Operates miscellaneous road equipment using skill and knowledge to perform the maintenance of gravel and bituminous surface roadways
• Responsible for avoiding breakage of and excessive wear of equipment
• Responsible in the winter for snow removal and maintenance on reservation roads
• Responsible in the summer for pot holes fills on roads and general road maintenance
• Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or repairs to the supervisor; cleans equipment
• Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• GED/High School Diploma
• To perform excellent driving capabilities in environments elements; heat, cold, dust, noise, rain, snow, etc.
• Must possess a class "A" drivers license and sufficient experience in operation of various types of heavy equipment
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical examination
• Must maintain a valid DOT medical card
• Must be able to pass random Drug/Alcohol tests
• Must possess and maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record
• Must be able to perform heavy lifting
• Must possess a thorough knowledge of heavy equipment and safety procedures
• Must be able to work excess hours
• Position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug test and background check
