Allen LeRoy Bailey, 81, of Red Lake, Minnesota passed away at the Jourdain Perpich Nursing Home on Friday, October 20, 2017.
Allen was born on April 11, 1936 in Red Lake, MN to Doris (Smith) and John Arnold Bailey. He attended schools in Red Lake. Allen enjoyed fishing and hunting. After graduating from high school Allen enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1954-1958. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy Allen returned home and was hired to work for CAP as a plumber for many years.
Those Allen joins are his son; Vincent "Mac" Bailey, his parents; Doris and Arnold, brother; Earl Bailey, maternal grandparents George and Jospehine Smith, paternal grandparents; Catherine and Roy Bailey, two special aunts; Mildred Dudley and Freda Statner.
Allen is survived by his son; Sheldon (Corinne) Bailey and daughter; Glennora "Suki" (Al) Bailey both of Red Lake, brother; Richard (Bev) Bailey of Bemidji, uncle; Gordon Bailey of Keewatin, ten grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Allen will begin at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 26, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Lake, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at 12:00 p.m. Sister Patrice Eblen will officiate. Pallbearers for Allen will be Corey Bailey, J.R. Bailey, Larry Dudley, Keith Beaulieu, Mark Barrett and Vincent Schoenborn. His honorary pallbearers are Archie Barrett, Roman "Ducker" Stately, Candy Beaulieu, Westy Beaulieu, Lorraine Chaboyea, Ron Smith and the Nursing Staff at Jourdain Perpich Nursing Home. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Bemidji, MN following services. Military honors accorded by the Red Lake Honor Guard of Red Lake, MN.
