A Santa Fe County grand jury has indicted the former chief executive of a tribal-owned business that contracts with Los Alamos National Laboratory, charging him with five felony counts including extortion, money laundering and embezzlement, according to records released Friday by the state Attorney General’s Office.
Donn Wiese, 69, was fired from San Ildefonso Services LLC in September 2016. Months later, an attorney representing the company alleged in a complaint to the Attorney General’s Office that Wiese embezzled more than $20,000 in grant funds in addition to computer equipment, according to a search warrant affidavit made public in July.
