Lawrence Kenneth Brown, 87, of Bemidji, Minnesota began his journey to the spirit world on Friday, October 13, 2017 from the Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, MN. He was born in Browning, Montana on May 15, 1930 to James and Mary (Connolly) Brown.

Lawrence was born and raised in Browning, MT until he left to go to trade school. In the 50’s, Lawrence met Barbara (Lussier) English and her children and they have been together until his passing. He was a very hard worker and over the years worked as a boiler maker, pipe fitter and a welder in Chicago, IL and Gary, IN. Lawrence was a man of few words but his heart was huge. He helped raise two of his grandchildren and was always helping others with whatever they needed. He loved sports, you would often find him at games watching basketball, baseball…but his favorite were boxing and football. Lawrence also liked to play a few rounds of golf. His favorite place to go was Wisconsin Dells. He would meet his children there and they would enjoy each other’s company for a few days every now and then.

Family that Lawrence meets again are his parents; James and Mary Brown, daughter; Bonnie English, son; Ludi English, brothers; Murphy and Donald Brown, sisters; Esther Brown and Marjorie Gerard.

He leaves behind his wife; Barbara Brown of Red Lake, sons; Douglas English of Red Lake and Lee English of Minneapolis, daughters; Sandra (Norman) McGee of North Branch, Gail (Norris) Brown of Milwaukee, WI and Karen L. (Lee) Brown of Shingleton, MI, 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

A wake for Lawrence will begin at 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 20th and continue until his 1:00 p.m. service on Saturday, October 21st all being held at the Old Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake, MN. Father George Ross will officiate. At Lawrence’s request his cremated remains will remain with his family.
