Many American Indian Families Suffer Losses from Wildfires that Hit California

SANTA ROSA — Reports are coming about American Indians who lost everything except the clothes on their backs from the wildfires that destroyed several miles of homes in Santa Rosa, California.

While there have not been any confirmed deaths of American Indians, to date 40 non-Native people have been confirmed dead and some 400 people have not yet been accounted for after 20,000 people were forced to evacuate their homes.
