Albuquerque Public Schools board member Analee Maestas resigned Tuesday amid an embezzlement scandal at a state charter school she founded.

“It has been an honor to serve on the Board with each of you,” Maestas wrote in a two-sentence letter submitted to the Board of Education via email. The resignation is effective immediately, she wrote.
