Robert Weaver Nominated to Head IHS

WASHINGTON — Robert M. Weaver has been nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as director of the Indian Health Service (IHS), an federal agency with the Department of Health and Human Services. Weaver will need to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate. The IHS director serves for a four-year term.

Weaver is an enrolled tribal citizen of the Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma. He serves as the consultative representative to U.S. Government Relations for his tribe in the area of healthcare.
