WNBA Finals: Lynx dynasty rolls on with fourth title in seven years

As the confetti commemorating a Lynx dynasty that added a fourth title in seven years fell onto the floor at the team’s temporary home of Williams Arena on Wednesday night, the Lynx fell at the center of the court, landing in each other’s arms.

Another WNBA season ended Wednesday with the Lynx lifting a trophy, the latest one cementing this run as one of the best in the league’s 20-year history. With an 85-76 victory in Game 5 of the Finals over the Los Angeles Sparks, the team that beat them in the Finals a year ago, the Lynx added a fourth championship. That’s something only matched in league history by the now-defunct Houston Comets, who won the league’s first four titles.
