No Average Joe: Tribal member ends AAU powerlifting career with two world records

LAS VEGAS – Dallas Joe was determined to make his mark at the biggest stage of his career. He wanted to be a world record holder in all three powerlifting events, and really needed to seize the three opportunities he'd receive here Friday afternoon in the squat and deadlift to do so.

But red flags, which symbolize a failed lift, stunted his momentum for the most part. Instead, he left the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino with just one of two goals achieved. The tribal member from Omak achieved a new world record in the deadlift, but fell short on the squat.
