The three defendants in a fatal shooting on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in May are now facing additional federal charges.
Clarence Yellow Hawk, 27, was initially charged with first-degree murder and discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence in the killing of 42-year-old Christopher Janis near Sharps Corner. Yellow Hawk is now facing an additional count of possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, which was a Sig Sauer P226 semiautomatic pistol, according to court records.
