Julia Rose Jones, 67 years, of Redby Minnesota passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Red Lake IHS Hospital. She was born the daughter of Josephine (Clark) and Joseph Howard, Sr. on February 21, 1950 in Red Lake, MN.

Julia's love of cooking and baking led her attend and graduate from Chef School in her younger years. She also liked to sew, go to the casino and play bingo. Julia enjoyed sitting in her chair at home and watching her favorite shows, which were Wheel of Fortune, Price is Right and the cooking channel. She worked for many years as a processor at the Red Lake Fisheries. She loved coaching her softball team (Copper City). She took them to a lot of tournaments and they always managed to come home with a trophy. Julia raised her great nephew Joseph Lee.

Julia joins her son; Richard, her parents; Josephine and Joseph Howard, Sr., sisters; Judy, Marilyn and Joann, brother; George, niece; Sheri Howard, and great nephews; Shaun and David Howard.

She is survived by her special friend; William Desjarlais, sisters; Frances Johnson, Joyce Howard, Janice Howard, Georgianna Howard and Donna Spears and a brother; Joseph Howard, Jr.

A wake for Julia will begin at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 20th and continue until her 1:00 p.m., service on Tuesday, August 22nd all being held at the Redby Community Center in Redby, MN. Father George Ross will officiate. Pallbearers for Julia will be Brandon Howard, Jr., Nick Howard, Corey Stately, Guy Stately, Jr., Richard "Gitch" Clark and Rain Stately. Alternate pallbearers are Kyrell Howard, Trey Howard, Tyrell Stately and Terrell Stately. Her honorary pallbearers are all her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Interment will be in the St. Antipas Episcopal Cemetery, at Redby, MN following her Tuesday services.
