Lack of leadership, funding cancels PowWow again

The only event of its kind in Chula Vista that showcased Native American tradition was canceled for the second consecutive year, and it may be gone for good. That is, says event organizer Susan Johnson, unless someone else steps up.

Johnson had led event efforts since inception of the South Bayfront Powwow in 2012. She also helped establish the South Bayfront Artists, the group that came up with the idea for the powwow.
