Lorraine Pemberton, 88, of Bemidji, MN died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at GoldPine Home, Bemidji.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Bethel Lutheran Church, Bemidji with Pastor Mark Kindem officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 14, 2017 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. Antipas Episcopal Cemetery, Redby.

Lorraine Anabel Sunde was born October 29, 1928 in Guthrie, MN to John and Anne (Carlson) Sunde. She grew up in the Bemidji Area and attended Bemidji Elementary School and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1946. On July 3, 1949 she married Louis Pemberton in Redby. Louis and Lorraine lived for 12 years in Redby. They had one daughter. Lorraine worked for the Social Security Administration in Bemidji and retired after 20 years. At one time she also managed a senior housing complex. Lorraine joined Bethel Lutheran Church about 5 years ago. While her hobby had long been knitting, she did a great deal of reading and volunteered as she was able. She loved watching Twins baseball and Lynx basketball.

She is survived by her daughter, Teri (Daryl) Malbraaten of Bemidji; grandson, Brett Malbraaten of Mounds View; sisters, Alvina Lorentz of Vancouver, WA, Shirley Cuyler of Kingsford, MI and Darlene Dillon of Bemidji and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anne Sunde; husband, Louis Pemberton; 2 infant daughters; brothers, Delyle Sunde and Elgin "Dale" Sunde and sisters, Dorothy Bishop and Dorothy Jean Hawkins.
