POCATELLO — Idaho’s top federal prosecutor says he hopes a three-decade prison sentence for a convicted murderer deters such senseless crimes in the future.
Demetrius Anthony Gomez, 30, of Fort Hall, was sentenced this week to 30 years in prison to be followed by five years of supervised released for fatally shooting his cousin in May 2016 with a sawed-off shotgun at close range during a house party on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation.
