Shelby Rowe was honored as the 2016 Chickasaw Nation Dynamic Woman of the Year. The Chickasaw Nation is now accepting nominations for the 2018 Dynamic Woman of the Year Award. All nominations and supporting documentation must be submitted to Chickasaw Nation Arts & Humanities Division by July 7, 2017.
The Chickasaw Nation is now accepting nominations through July 7 for the 2018 Dynamic Woman of the Year Award.
Established in 2006, the Dynamic Woman of the Year Award honors Chickasaw women who have made significant contributions to the Nation, served as role models to other Chickasaw women and who have made a difference in the lives of Chickasaws and other citizens, enriching their communities and society at large.
Chickasaw women, ages 35 and older, with proof of citizenship through Chickasaw Nation Citizenship documentation or Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB), are eligible for the award.
The 2016 Chickasaw Nation Dynamic Woman of the Year, Shelby R. Rowe, is manager of Education and Prevention Programs for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. She has been a leader in suicide prevention since 2007 and has more than 20 years of experience in the public health system. Ms. Rowe played a major role in the Arkansas State Plan for Suicide Prevention by expanding the statewide crisis hotline. Ms. Rowe was keynote speaker at the 2017 Dynamic Women of the Chickasaw Nation Conference at the Artesian Hotel in Sulphur, Oklahoma.
