SUPERVISOR – INDIAN & FREE PREVENTION/TREATMENT

CHEMICAL HEALTH PROGRAMS

PRIMARY FUNCTION

To be responsible for the overall administration of the Program in terms of planning, budgeting, organizing, developing human services and evaluating in accordance with federal, state, county and local standard guidelines and regulations. Reports to Executive Director, full-time w/benefits, salary; DOQ.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Responsible for supervising, planning, developing, reviewing implementing and evaluating the Drug Abuse Prevention Treatment Program

• Responsible for familiarizing the people of the Red Lake Indian Reservation with the functions and responsibilities of the Drug Abuse Prevention Treatment Program

• Responsible for direction, consulting and insuring staff carry out their duties and responsibilities

• Responsible for obtaining, reviewing and approving all Drug Prevention materials that will be used by the Program

• Responsible for coordinating staff training

• Responsible for working with staff and community in developing a Health Education/Drug Prevention Program

• Responsible for submitting electronic grant application and reports required by federal agency.

• Responsible for keeping inventory and distributing training equipment when needed

• Responsible for coordinating and assisting other agencies in the promotion of drug fee lifestyle

• Responsible for supervising staff in the development of treatment plans when necessary

• Responsible for assuring that the staff follows the established rules of confidentiality as state in CFR 42 Part 2

• Perform administrative requirements such as writing correspondence, memorandums, completing necessary forms, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports

• Must be able to organize, prepare and present written and oral information clearly and concisely

• Prepares for and conducts at least bi-weekly staff meetings and provides minutes for staff

• Participates in educational presentations for community groups (i.e., schools and other agencies)

• Adheres to state and federal policies to maintain and promote strict client and employee confidentiality

• Assist staff in the development of career plans

• Adhere to Professional Standards, Ethics and Boundaries

• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a High School Diploma and/or two year's experience in the field of human services

• At least two year's of chemical dependency rehabilitation experience including supervisory experience

• Ability to work cohesively with Management and local agencies

• Must have at least two year's sobriety

• Must have valid Minnesota Driver's License with auto insurance

• Knowledge of the traditions and customs of the Native American people native to the Red Lake Reservation

• Must abstain and/or refrain from using mood altering chemicals while employed

• Must submit to mandatory random alcohol/drug testing

• Must be on-call 24-hours a day, seven days a week

• Must have knowledge of the 12-step AA Program

• Must have the ability to make independent decisions, have adequate concept of the program and projects
