Bemidji Pioneer: Learning their history: High school, college students from Twin Cities area visit Bemidji on five-day American Indian tour
April 24, 2017
BEMIDJI—More than 30 high school and college students stood in complete silence near the foundation of Bemidji's former Pamida building Friday, absorbing the fact that they were atop the graves of 22 people.
"There's a lot of history that's right here," Jim Jones, the Minnesota Indian Affairs Council's cultural resource director, told the group. "There's no telling what's still underneath Pamida."
