Red Lake Warriors win 4th Consecutive Section 8A Championship with 71-60 win over Stephen-Argyle - Set 2 - P23
Will meet #1 ranked Minneapolis North in first game of state tournament

Section 8A Championship – Red Lake 71 vs. Stephen-Argyle 60
The Red Lake Warriors overcame a 33-29 halftime to defeat the Stephen-Argyle Storm and win their fourth consecutive Section 8A championship.
The Warriors outscored the Storm 42-27 in the second half thanks in large part to a 16-3 run that Red Lake put together.
Kendall Whitefeather came off the Red Lake bench to lead all scorers in the game with 23 points. Rob McClain added 16 points as the Warriors picked up their eleventh win in their last twelve games and improved their overall record to 25-4.
Chris McGlynn led Stephen-Argyle with 22 points as the Storm had a 16 game winning streak come to an end. Hunter Yutrzenka added 12 points for the Storm as their season ends with a record of 24-4.
The last time Stephen-Argyle had lost a game was on January 13th when they lost 70-52 at Ada-Borup.
Stephen-Argyle went on a 13-0 run in the first half to turn a 18-13 deficit into a 26-18 lead.
The two teams played in front a large and enthusiastic crowd at "The Ralph" in Thief River Falls.
The Warriors will play on Thursday, March 23rd in the first round of the State Tournament at Williams Arena in Minneapolis. The pairings for the State Tournament were announced on Saturday, March 18th with Red Lake drawing #1 seed Minneapolis North on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at William's Arena.
Red Lake defeated Browerville/Eagle Valley in the opening round of the 2016 state tournament before losing to eventual state champion Minneapolis North in the semi-finals.
The Warriors ended up taking fourth place in the 2016 state tournament.
