Shakopee Mdewakanton Mobile Medical Unit Provides Access to Free Health Services in Communities Across Minnesota

Prior Lake, Minn. – Continuing its goal to support the health of other tribal nations and neighbors in need, the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) is bringing free medical, dental and vision services to communities across Minnesota via its Mobile Unit.

Launched in 2007, the Mobile Unit offers free mammograms, diabetes education and screenings, dental cleanings, sealants and varnishes, eye exams, and more to individuals and families who cannot afford high-quality medical care. Now in its 10th year of operation, the Mobile Unit has been deployed 600 times and served approximately 10,000 people.

The SMSC Mobile Unit's deployment schedule is as follows:
