Law enforcement arrests nine for trespassing

Nine pipeline protesters were arrested for trespassing by 5 p.m. Wednesday, following state evacuation orders of the Oceti Sakowin camp. The pipeline protest camp was filled with fire and ceremony throughout the day, including a walk, accompanied by singing and drumming, that emptied the camp of most of its occupants.

It is estimated that 50 to 75 occupants of the camp remain. Law enforcement had no plans to enter on Wednesday.
