Margaret Ann "Muggs" (Johnson) Crowe, 80 years young, of Ponemah and the Eagle Clan journeyed to the spirit world on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from Cornerstone Nursing Home in Bagley MN.  Margaret was born the daughter of Ethel (Bugg) and Rufus Johnson on February 17, 1937 in Red Lake, MN.

Margaret was born in Red Lake and raised in Ponemah.  She met Daniel Crowe at a 4th of July powwow in Ponemah and the two were married the summer of 1962.  She and the children followed Daniel and his jobs all over the country, to places like Cleveland, OH, Oakland, CA and Poplar, MT.  After the passing of her brother Dallas in 1968, they moved back to Ponemah and raised their family.  She spent the next 33 years working as a head start teacher in Ponemah.  Margaret was a huge sports fan, her favorite Minnesota teams were the Timberwolves, the Vikings, the Twins and the Gophers.  She loved to watch her Red Lake Warriors Boys and Girls Basketball teams play.  Margaret also liked to watch TV in her spare time, the Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud were her favorite game shows.  She also liked to watch CSI, Forensic Files, First 48, the Life Time Channel, I.D. Channel and Law and Order.  Margaret loved to spend time with her family as often as she could.  She will be dearly missed.

Margaret is welcomed to the spirit world by her parents; Ethel and Rufus, husband; Daniel Crowe, Sr., newborn son; Harold Crowe, brothers; Dallas, Levi, Virgil and Patrick Johnson, sister; Jannette Johnson and many other family members.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memories are her sons; Wayne Sr. and Gary Lee Johnson both of Ponemah, Daniel Jr. (Karen Martin) and Darrell Sr. (Mary Omen) Crowe both of Ponemah, daughters; LuAnn (Earl) Crowe Fairbanks and Janet Crowe both of Ponemah, brothers; Lloyd "Rocko" (Darlene) and Rudy Johnson both of Ponemah, 24 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, special granddaughters; Laura Jean Crowe Fairbanks, SueAnn Crowe and Janine Perkins, special grandsons; Lance Crowe and Eddie Boy Perkins, nieces, nephews, many more relatives and dear friends.

An overnight wake for Margaret will begin at 12:00 p.m., Friday, February 24th and continue until her traditional services at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 25th all being held at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN.  Steve Jackson will be her Spiritual Advisor.  Helping to lay Margaret to rest will be Darrell Crowe, Jr., Edward Perkins, Jr., Gary M. Johnson, Michael Pankow, Joey Johnson, Sr., Dallas Crowe, Lance Crowe, and Wayne Johnson, Jr.  Alternate pallbearers are Curtis Johnson, Stephen Johnson and Jordan Dow.  Her honorary pallbearers are Beverly Cloud, Barb Thomas and Rita Johnson, Head Start Staff, her Bingo Buddies; Barb Cloud, Betty Schoenborn and Muriel Stewert.  Interment will be in the Family Burial Grounds at Ponemah, MN following her Saturday service.
