Major flooding possible in northern Red River Valley

GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Forecasters say there is an increased risk for moderate to major flooding in the northern Red River Valley of northeastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota this spring.

Those areas have the wettest soils and highest snowpack conditions, according to an updated spring flood outlook released Thursday by the National Weather Service.
