The Blackfeet Tribe got an unexpected head start in dealing with the massive amounts of snowfall that began on Sunday, Feb. 5, when the water system serving Browning lost pressure. “The Tribal Council started on Friday and Saturday [Feb. 3-4] with the water situation,” said the Tribe’s Public Information Officer, Jim McNeely. “There were frozen valves, but the water was back on Saturday night. On Sunday it started snowing, and Robert [DesRosier, Incident Commander] started calling people, and various entities were calling off work because there was so much snow.”
