Mike graduated from High School in Vermillion South Dakota in 1981. Attended College at Haskell, Omaha Tech., and Sheridan Community College. He was employed in various jobs throughout the years, including Counselor at Little Voices, Dakota Pride, Thunderchild Treatment Center (Sheridan Wyoming) and R.E.N.E.W. (Sheridan Wyoming). Mike was a humble man, generous and caring with a heart of gold. He didn't have many material things, the things he did have he gave away without hesitation. Everyone thought the world of him, he loved so many people. All who came into his life, he treated and considered them a part of his family. The knowledge, guidance and love he gave to all cannot be measured. He was one of the richest men we knew because of all the love he received from those near and far. There were many people , too numerous to name , whose lives he touched. He left us all with the gift of memories we will cherish for always. He lived and loved his traditional Dakota way of life. That was who he was. Michael enjoyed fishing, hunting, attending powwows,singing/drumming, participating in Sweat Lodge and Sundance for many years. He also he loved spending time having Birthday celebrations and Dinners, visiting with family and friends. Michael is survived by His companion Desiree Ortly.
