Dayton announces Ninth Judicial District appointee

ST. PAUL—Chief Deputy Crow Wing County Attorney David Hermerding has been selected to fill a vacancy in Minnesota's Ninth Judicial District after the retirement of Judge John Solien, seated in Aitkin County.

Gov. Mark Dayton's office announced Hermerding's appointment Wednesday in a news release. Hermerding prosecuted felony and gross misdemeanor drug cases prior to his appointment. He also worked as an assistant Crow Wing County attorney, a staff attorney in the Ninth Judicial District Public Defender's Office and has experience as a private attorney.
