WORTHINGTON — Southwest Minnesota leaders were ecstatic when the Department of Employment and Economic Development announced Lismore Cooperative Telephone Co. would be getting a $2.94 million grant to create a hybrid fiber-optic and wireless network that should eventually bring high speed internet to all of Nobles County.
By supplying a one-to-one match on the grant, Lismore Telephone will create more than 500 miles in new wireless coverage, distributed through five towers. The co-op will also install over 82 miles of fiber optic cable.
