According to the National School Boards Association, your school board is not just responsible for employing the superintendent and developing and adopting policies, curriculum, and the budget for the schools. Your school board is responsible for overseeing facilities issues.

Your school board leaders are elected officials, you voted for them to be in office. Recent research shows that school boards have a significant impact on student achievement in their districts.
