How to request more action from your child's school and school board

WRDW/WAGT) -- When there are issues that may hamper your child's education, you may be wondering how you can get your child's school as well as their school board to work for you.

According to the National School Boards Association, your school board is not just responsible for employing the superintendent and developing and adopting policies, curriculum, and the budget for the schools. Your school board is responsible for overseeing facilities issues.

Hold your school board leaders accountable!

Your school board leaders are elected officials, you voted for them to be in office. Recent research shows that school boards have a significant impact on student achievement in their districts.
