Plea expected from Bemidji man accused of manslaughter

BEMIDJI -- A Bemidji man charged with second-degree manslaughter in connection with the death of his 2-year-old foster child is expected to enter a plea Friday, Jan. 20.

Nathan Daniel Jackson, 38, was originally scheduled to appear in court Tuesday for a contested omnibus hearing. During such hearings, a judge determines whether there is enough evidence for probable cause; law enforcement officials often testify.
