Wind chills delay, close some area schools for Friday

BEMIDJI -- Dangerous wind chills forecast overnight will delay the start of school or cancel it altogether for some regional schools.
As of early Thursday evening, there will be no school in Red Lake on Friday. School and busses will be running two hours late in Bemidji, Blackduck, Bagley, Northome and Kelliher.
The Bemidji region, and much of northwest Minnesota, is in either a wind chill warning or wind chill advisory through Friday afternoon. Overnight wind chills are expected to be near 40 below, with the coldest temperatures expected at about 6 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.
