Longest Walk 5 – 2 will Begin in San Francisco on February 12

SAN FRANCISCO –  The Longest Walk 5 – 2 to begin from San Francisco on February 12, 2017.

This year’s Longest Walk is part two of a three-part walk across America to bring attention to the war on drug abuse and domestic violence. Last year’s walk took a southern route across the country. It originated in San Diego in February and ended in Washington, D.C. in July.

“Because of the extremely high rate of abuse, suicides, drug related deaths and destruction, which is at a pandemic stage, our mission is to cross this continent on foot; seeking cultural and spiritual solutions to end drug abuse and domestic violence,” said Dennis Banks, who is the leader of the Longest Walk 5 – 2.
