Mount Pleasant man gets prison for raping girl on Isabella Reservation

MT. PLEASANT, MI -- A 22-year-old Mount Pleasant man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Friday, Jan. 6, for the rape of a 13-year-old girl on the Isabella Indian Reservation.

Federal prosecutors say Jake Henry Detzler, who pleaded guilty on Sept. 21, had made the 13-year-old girl perform oral sex on him and also used force to sexually penetrate the teen Jan. 2, 2015, on the Isabella Indian Reservation, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Michigan.

The sentence of 20 years in prison for two counts of abusive sexual contact was handed down by a federal judge.
