For many, 2016 was a year to remember for spectacular achievements. For others, the end of the year couldn't come fast enough.

So, as we turn the calendar to 2017, staff at the Bemidji Pioneer decided to look back on the big news of 2016 for the Bemidji area—a year with its share of trials and tribulations, of tragedy and triumphs, of turmoil and tempests that blew through our region.
