One dead, one injured in vehicle crash in Lake of the Woods County

One person is dead and another injured after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 11 in Lake of the Woods County Sunday morning.

Minnesota State Patrol says a Chevrolet truck, driven by 46-year old Patrick Owens was traveling east on Highway 11. A Ford Escape, driven by 60-year-old Sherry Lein, was traveling west.

The Chevrolet truck crossed over the center line and collided head-on with the Ford Escape.

Owens was killed and Lein sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by Lake of the Woods EMS, Williams Fire, and US Border Patrol.
