With storm, MnDOT warns of 'washboard conditions' on the roads
A dusting a snow fell overnight in the Twin Cities, but that’s just a preview of what is to come. The main event will arrive sometime around midday Friday bringing with it as much as a foot of snow in some places followed by temperatures so low that it should make even a bundled up Michelin man shiver.
Already many schools across the state are announcing early dismissal plans and others are not opening at all ahead of the largest storm of the season, which has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Winter Storm Warning that goes into effect at noon Friday and will remain in place through Saturday morning. A windchill warning goes into effect Saturday into Sunday morning.
