Northern Cheyenne Tribal member admits to starting shootout at Lame Deer shop

LAME DEER - The Northern Cheyenne tribal member accused of shooting a man at a Lame Deer convenience store in March admitted to the crime on Wednesday.

Devan Sanchez, 25, appeared in U.S. District Court in Billings to plead guilty to the charge of assault.

Sanchez entered a plea agreement where prosecutors agreed to dismiss the charges of assault with intent to commit murder, assault with a weapon and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime in exchange for his guilty plea.
