Red Lake Warriors win back to back NCTC Holiday Tournament Championships over Cass Lake-Bena 80-63

THIEF RIVER FALLS - The Red Lake Warriors broke open a close game by outscoring the Cass Lake-Bena Panthers 46-29 in the second half enroute to winning another Northland Holiday Boys Basketball Tournament championship.

With the game tied at halftime 34-34, the Warriors held the Panthers scoreless for the first 3:38 of the second half. Red Lake took advantage by scoring the first nine points of the second half and never looked back.

Rob McClain led Red Lake with 23 points and 15 rebounds as the number two ranked Warriors improved their overall record to 5-0. Jared Brown and Noah DeLapaz each scored 14 points for the Panthers as they fall to 2-1.

Rob McClain of Red Lake was selected as the Most Valuable Player in the tournament. Other Members of the All-Tournament Team include:

Red Lake is now 5-0 on the year with the win and Cass Lake dropped to 2-1.

Rob McClain led the Warriors with 23 points and 15 rebounds, Jamie Cook added 17 points, Kendall Whitefeather hit for 14 points, Rob Beaulieu III netted 6 points and 10 rebounds, and Brady Cook and WIll Morrison each hit for 4 pints.

The Warriors will host Kelliher-Northome on December 13, Laporte on December 15, before traveling to Fond du Lac on December 17th.

In other tournament action, 7th Place went to Badger-Greenbush-Middle River with their 82-50 win over

Clearbrook/Gonvick 50; Stephen-Argyle beat Fertile-Beltrami 60-38 for 3rd place; and Goodridge/Grygla downed Red Lake County 67-31 in the Consolation Championship.
