Leech Lake Tribal officer accused of sexting with teen girl

CASS COUNTY, Minn. (Valley News Live) – An officer of the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department is facing two charges after chatting with a teenage girl using apps and social media.

Shannon Larry Northbird, 38, is charged with felony possession of pornographic work and misconduct by a public employee, which is a gross misdemeanor.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) was asked to investigate a possible child porn case following a report of inappropriate Facebook messages between officer Northbird and a minor.
