HARDIN — Early starts have never been a priority for Hardin’s Madisan Chavez.
In fact, in sports, they haven’t been needed.
Chavez didn’t start playing basketball until she reached the fourth grade, when she began participating in organized basketball, whether in intramurals or traveling tournaments. One of her first hoops was on her family’s ranch near Lodge Grass, where she’d compete against her cousins.
