Donald Trump’s presidency is shaping up to be one giant conflict of interest, with his private business dealings already interacting with his public duties in all sorts of unsavory ways. The latest news on this front: Trump has anywhere from $500,000 to $1 million invested in the developer responsible for the highly contested Dakota Access Pipeline project.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Trump has up to a million dollars invested in Energy Transfer Partners, the company building the controversial pipeline through Native American lands. Kelcy Warren, the company’s head, donated $100,000 to Trump’s campaign and believes all obstacles to the project’s completion will be removed as soon as he’s inaugurated.
