School Board satisfied with Hess' performance

BEMIDJI—Bemidji Area Schools board members said they're satisfied with their superintendent's job performance last school year.

The board evaluated Superintendent Jim Hess' work in the 2015-16 school year during a pair of closed-door meetings last week, and Board Chair Jeff Haack summarized board members' opinions in a letter supplied at an early morning meeting Tuesday.

"Dr. Hess has met every challenge with focused energy and has moved the new Gene Dillon Elementary closer to reality," Haack wrote on behalf of the board. "Dr. Hess's (sic) commitment to growth and progress are evident in the legislative changes he has facilitated, the creation of the Lumberjack Academies and the peer awarded accolades he has received this year."
