Winter storm warning issued for Bemidji area


BEMIDJI—The Bemidji area is in a Winter Storm Warning through 6 p.m. Friday as the forecast calls for up to a foot of snow in some areas.

The National Weather Service office in Grand Forks issued the warning Thursday afternoon, predicting the winter storm will start late Thursday evening into Friday morning. The storm more than likely will start as rain and then change to snow in the overnight hours.

The warning includes south Beltrami County, Hubbard County, parts of Becker and Wadena counties, and includes the cities of Bemidji and Park Rapids, as well as the communities of Alida, Ebro, Lake Itasca, Wolf Lake, Wadena, Detroit Lakes.
