Protesters criticize Bullock's deployment of troopers to North Dakota
HELENA - About 50 people rallied on the steps of the Capitol on Monday to protest Gov. Steve Bullock’s decision to send several Montana Highway Patrol troopers to North Dakota last month.
Law enforcement officials in North Dakota asked for help under the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, a long-standing agreement among all 50 states.
Bullock said in a statement last week he signed off on the request as part of the compact.
