With Cass County precincts yet to report, Bliss leads Persell in House 5A

BEMIDJI—Republican Matt Bliss held a modest lead over incumbent Democrat John Persell early Wednesday in their contest for Minnesota House of Representatives District 5A.

With 42 of 71 precincts reporting, 7,469 voters picked Bliss and 6,488 picked Persell—a 981-vote lead for the GOPer in a district where 22,400 people were registered to vote the morning of election day.

The majority of precincts that had yet to report early Wednesday were in Cass County.
