Gary Douglas English, 56, of Redby, MN died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, North Dakota.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 5, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Red Lake, MN with Fr. Jerry Rogers officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, November 4, 2016 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Red Lake, MN.

Gary Douglas English was born March 3, 1960 in Red Lake, MN to Darrill “Peter” and Mary Jane (Smith) English Sr. During his early young years he fished and logged with his brother Donovan and his dad, Pete who stressed the importance of a hard days work. He then worked for the Red Lake School District for 34 years, retiring due to health conditions; He was a kind and gentle person with his family, if you asked he would give you his last dollar. He enjoyed our family gatherings and loved good food and music.

He is survived by his sisters, Wanda Lynn Lyons of Redby and Shelley Ann English of Redby; brothers, Donovan (Cindy) English of Redby and Darrill Peter (Kim) English Jr. of Redby; significant other, Georgianna Jourdain of Red Lake, MN; son, Sean English of Redby; daughters, Verna Redeagle of Redby and Misty Redeagle (Terry Benais) of Red Lake; step-son, M.J. Redeagle of Red Lake and 6 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary Jane English; sisters, Pamela Kay English and Eldora Elaine Malone.

Casket Bearers: Sean English, Dana Lyons Jr., Tyson Robert Nelson, Julian Lussier, Ron Pearson, Juan Lopez, III, James Cobenais, Pat Brown, Keith Beaulieu and Douglas Dudley.
